Services for Ruby Maxine (Menie) James, 77 of Gore, Oklahoma will be at 2 pm on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at Buffington Cemetery in Sallisaw, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

She was born on June 27, 1940 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to Leona Maxine (Boswell) Menie Scott and Othel Harold Menie and passed away on May 13, 2018 in Vian, Oklahoma. She was married to Charles Eugene “Gene” James and he preceded her in death on March 26, 2002. Ruby retired from Child Welfare Services and was a Baptist.

Survivors are:

2 daughters and sons in law: Pamela Donelson and Skip of Ft. Gibson, OK and Paula Ragsdale and Pat of Muskogee, OK

1 step daughter and son in law: Brenda Barnes and Stacy of Sallisaw, OK

2 sons and 1 daughter in law: Ray Maxwell of Sallisaw, OK and Randy Maxwell and Vickie of Webbers Falls, OK

Sisters in law: Ann and Diane Menie

10 grandchildren: Angela, Devin, Chelsie, Madison, Ryan, Tiffany, Amanda, Jennifer, Wesley and Ashlei

17 great grandchildren

Mother: Maxine Scott of Vian, OK

1 brother and sister in law: Alvin Menie and Rebcca of Lexington, SC

1 brother in law: Ken James of Sallisaw, OK

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene; her father, Othel Menie; and 2 brothers, Edward and Leroy Menie

Viewing will be Tuesday noon – 8 pm and Wednesday 10 am – 8 pm at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw. The family will greet Wednesday 6 – 8 pm at the funeral home.
