Ruth Ann (Ballard) Lafortune

Ruth Ann (Ballard) LaFortune, 82, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma was born on March 11, 1940 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to Tommie (Watkins) Ballard and William R. Ballard and passed away on February 27, 2023 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. She was married to Thomas LaFortune on February 14, 1987 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She liked to be involved in the Cherokee Nation and was a proud member of the Cherokee Old Settlers. Her great-grandmother was a descendant of and was raised by Red Bird Smith.

Survivors are husband, Thomas, of the home; one daughter, Pamela Feijoo and David of San Pedro, CA; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren;

She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Patty Blackwood, LaVerne Laughlin and GLenda Linscott; and three brothers, Conrad Ballard, Leo Ballard and Norman Ballard.
