Funeral Service for Samuel McElhaney, 45, of Vian, Oklahoma will be at 1:00 PM on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at Blackgum Harvesttime Baptist Church in Vian, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at White Cemetery in Gore, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

He was born on August 1, 1974 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to Dolly Virginia (Ford) Bucktrot and Joe McElhaney and passed away on November 8, 2019 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. Sam graduated from Vian High School in 1992 where he played baseball as a Wolverine. Sam continued to be involved with baseball, both little league and high school, as an umpire after graduating. He was also one of the Wolverines biggest fans. His blood will always run purple. If you didn’t see him in purple, you could find him in crimson supporting the Sooners. Sam was also an avid fisherman. He enjoyed spending time at the river with his son, Brett, and his best friend, Doug. His passion for people showed through his car detailing business Showroom Shine.

2 Nieces: Lauren McElhaney and Kaccie Cheater of Vian, OK

Mother: Dolly Bucktrot of Bristow, OK

1 brother: Joe McElhaney and wife, Memory, of Guthrie, OK

4 Aunts: Lucille, Ida, Jesse and Lola

4 Uncles: Albert, Jerry, Silas and Clifford

Numerous cousins and friends

He was preceded in death by his Father: Joe McElhaney, his Grandparents: Maggie and George McElhaney and several aunts and uncles

Active Pallbearers will be Douglas Marrow, James Thornton, Richard Armstrong, Steve Carlton, Dylan Haning and Brandon Hamilton.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Logan Coffee, Brandon Hamilton, Lucas Morris, Tee Jay Trotter and Tuff Trotter.

Viewing will be 4 – 8 PM Monday, 10 AM – 8 PM Tuesday and 10 AM – 8 PM Wednesday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw, OK where the family will greet 6 – 8 PM Wednesday.
