She was born on May 22, 1940 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Ruth (Herron) Van Buskirk and Marion Bruce and passed away on July 28, 2023 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. She was married to Ronnie Asbill. He preceded her in death on February 2, 2013. She was an RN and a high school secretary.
Survivors are two daughters, Jennifer Smurthwaite of Decatur, TX and Amy Bleyl and Chris of Sallisaw, OK; one son, Chris Corn and Sioux of Australia; one step son, Greg Asbill of Sallisaw, OK; eight grandchildren, Taylor Smurthwaite, Langley Smurthwaite, Drs. Rodante and Fleming Saballa, Nate Asbill, Brennon Asbill, Ethan Asbill, and Brooklyn Asbill; two great grandchildren, Enzo and Eli Saballa; one brother, David Bruce and Carol of NC; honorary son, Lex Smurthwaite of ID; sister in law, Debbie Irby of IL; and several other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
