Sandra Kay (Baylis) Smith

Sandra Kay (Baylis) Smith, 78, of Muldrow, Oklahoma, went Home to be with her Lord and Savior on January 6, 2025. She was born on June 23, 1946, in Decatur, Illinois, the daughter of Don Baylis. Sandra was married to Hubert Dale Smith on June 16, 1976, in Joliet, Illinois. Sandra's journey through life was marked by her profound dedication to her family, her career as a home health provider, and her faith as a member of the Christian community. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all whose lives she touched.

She is survived by her husband, Hubert Smith, of the home; her daughter, Samantha Dotson and Daniel of Muldrow, Oklahoma; son Tony Smith and Jackie Lewis, also of Muldrow. Sandra was a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren: Crystal Sevenstar and Jerome, Brittany Chatham and Josh, Tristen Smith, Bayle Dotson, Rylee Smith, Ryker Smith, and Aimie Salisbury; and eight great-grandchildren: Gage, Bentley, Teagan, Jace, Brecken, Lyric, Nevaeh, and Edward, each of whom held a special place in her heart.

She is also survived by her mother, Betty Baylis of Florida; two sisters, Jill Coleman and Roger of Florida, and Tina Baylis of Florida; two brothers, Terry Baylis of Decatur, Illinois, and George Baylis of Colorado; and numerous other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.

Sandra was preceded in death by her father, Don Baylis; and three brothers, Greg Baylis, Curt Baylis, and Mark Baylis. 

The funeral service honoring Sandra Kay (Baylis) Smith will take place on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Praise Temple Outreach Church in Muldrow, Oklahoma. A private interment will follow at Akins Cemetery in Sallisaw, Oklahoma, under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

Active pallbearers will include Tony Smith, Tristen Smith, Rylee Smith, Ryker Smith, Carlin Mitchell, and Buzz Smith.
