Funeral Service for Seymour E. Drake, 83, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at First Presbyterian Church in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Sallisaw City Cemetery in Sallisaw, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

Funeral Service for Seymour E. Drake, 83, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at First Presbyterian Church in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Sallisaw City Cemetery in Sallisaw, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

He was born on October 22, 1938 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma to Daisy Ed (Stevenson) Drake and Seymour Baker Drake and passed away on July 10, 2022 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. He was married to Jennie Lee (Dawes) Drake on May 26, 1961 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death on February 6, 2001. Seymour was an educator and carpenter. He taught Industrial Arts in Van Buren, Missouri and Nixa, Missouri, before moving to Sallisaw. He was a member of the Air National Guard’s 188th Wing in Fort Smith, Arkansas.  Seymour was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Sallisaw.

Survivors are:

2 sons, Dan Drake and Lisa of Sallisaw, OK and Steven Drake and Sissy Gilbreth of Fort Smith, AR;

4 grandchildren, Lauren Brown and Corey of Sallisaw, OK, Logan Drake and DeAndra of Fort Smith, AR, Holly Dodson of New Orleans, LA and Jenna Drake of Fort Smith, AR;

2 great-grandchildren, Brinleigh and Alleigh Brown;

brother, Stafford Drake and Lynette of Sallisaw, OK;

and numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; and one nephew, Alan Drake.

Active Pallbearers will be Russell Knoke, Richard Mayo, Tyler Knoke, Logan Drake, Corey Brown, Randy Howell, Max Knoke, Jeff Mayo and Charles Wilson.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Stafford Drake, Herman White and Don Bauer.

Viewing will be 10 AM – 8 PM Wednesday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw, OK where the family will greet 6 – 8 PM.
