Shelby Darlene Cooper

Shelby Darlene Cooper, a beloved daughter, sister, and friend, left this world far too soon, at the age of 28, on January 11, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Born on November 11, 1996, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, Shelby’s bright spirit and creative soul will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved her.

A talented writer, Shelby had a profound way of expressing herself, capturing the hearts of many through her words. She had a unique gift for weaving beautiful narratives that resonated with those fortunate enough to read her work.

Shelby is survived by her loving parents, Doyl and Heather Gunter of Owasso, Oklahoma; three sisters, Allana Gunter of Owasso, Oklahoma, Elizabeth Cheatwood of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Kaydence Cooper of Sallisaw, Oklahoma; her brother, Cody Cooper of Tulsa, Oklahoma; her aunt, Angela Moore; and her uncles, Justin Moore, Joseph Cooper, and Jeremy Cooper. Along with her immediate family, she is remembered fondly by numerous relatives and friends whose lives she touched in meaningful ways.

A viewing will be held at the Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw, Oklahoma, on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, from noon to 8 PM, with the family present to greet loved ones and friends from 5 to 7 PM. The funeral service will take place on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel, with burial to follow at Sallisaw City Cemetery.

While we mourn the loss of Shelby, we celebrate the light she brought into our lives. May her spirit continue to inspire us through the words she penned and the love she shared with all.
