Shelby Richardson

Services for Shelby R. Richardson, 92, of Sallisaw, OK will be at 2:00 pm on Monday, March 19, 2018 at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw, OK. Burial will follow at Akins Cemetery in Sallisaw, OK under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

He was born on July 25, 1925 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma to Ollie Daniels Richardson and Jim Richardson. Shelby joined his beloved wife, Doris Richardson, on March 15, 2018 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Shelby married Doris Roberts Richardson on October 1, 1949 in Ft. Smith, AR. He retired after 30 years from the City of Sallisaw as Superintendent of Water and Waste Water, and was a 20 Year Retiree of the Sallisaw Fire Department. He served on the Rural Water District 3 Board. He was also an accomplished musician, cattleman and an avid hunter and fisherman.

Survivors are:

3 daughters: Janet and husband: Hobart Jones of Sallisaw, OK, Mary Beth and husband: Roy Fair of Sallisaw, OK, and Sherri Richardson of Sallisaw, OK;

6 granchildren: Steve Jones, Daryl Jones, Jennifer Jones, Shelton Fair, Zachary Fair and Jason Hill;

9 great grandchildren: Andie Jones, Cody Jones, Christopher Jones, Derrick Jones, Sheldon Fair, Adisyn Fair, Jordyn Fair, Garrett Hill and Carson Hill;

2 great great grandchildren: Jamiason Jones and Bailey Fair; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters: Baby Ruth, Virginia “Virgie” Trotter and Agnes Boyd, 3 brothers: Alvin, Carl and Kenneth Richardson.

Active Pallbearers will be Sallisaw Fire Department.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Elton Rogers, Wayne Osburn, Leitha Jean Richardson (sister-in-law), Tommy Denton, Elvie Wells, nephews, great nephews and Retired Members of Sallisaw Fire Department.
