Funeral service for Shirley Day Tounzen, 82 of Roland, Oklahoma will be at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Muldrow, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Roland City Cemetery in Roland, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
She was born on June 22, 1937 in Mountainburg, Arkansas to Sophia (Teague) Morgan and Oscar Morgan and passed away on March 8, 2020 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was married to Jim Day on November 10, 1954. He preceded her in death on December 11, 2008. She was married to Harold Tounzen on July 11, 2015 in Roland, Oklahoma. Mrs. Tounzen was the former manager of The Colony Shop and a member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors are:
husband: Harold of the home;
1 daughter: Judy Burnett and Mark of Shady Point, OK;
1 son: Jim Day and Jane of Fort Smith, AR;
3 grandsons: Jim Gillespie of Alma, AR, and Zack and Tyler Kolaas of Decorah, IA;
2 granddaughters: Morgan Hooper and Billy of Howe, OK and Mandy Bovos and Matt of Edmond, OK;
3 great granddaughters: Hadley Hooper, Harper and Parker Bovos;
She was preceded in death by her first husband: Jim Day; daughter: Theresa Kolaas; granddaughter: Brandi Day; sister: Jewel Jones; and brothers: Herschel, Virgil, Oscar Jr., Freddie and Lee Morgan.
Active Pallbearers will be Matt Bovos, Billy Hooper, Josh Wilson, Ronnie Wilson, Jeremy Day and Robert Maxwell.
Honorary Pallbearers will be James Foster, Steve Day, Phillip Deuster, Brian Deuster, Mark Deuster, William Deuster, Paul Day and Joe Day.
Viewing will be 10 AM – 8 PM Tuesday at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Muldrow where the family will greet 6 – 8 PM.
