Shirley (Risley) Pruitt, born on August 20, 1949, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, to Gene and Martha Risley. She passed away on November 7, 2024 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. She lived her entire life in Gore, Oklahoma.

She was a member of Gum Springs Free Will Baptist Church, where she met her husband, George Pruitt. They were married on June 3, 1967 in Gore, Oklahoma. They enjoyed 50 years of marriage before George passed away on February 20, 2018. During their marriage, they raised four daughters and one son, Michelle Ann Pruitt, Felicia Faye Pruitt, Georgia Jean Pruitt, Tammy Marie Pruitt and Ivey Lee Pruitt. They also had a hand in raising each and every one of their grandchildren. They all thought of her as their second mom.  Shirley had one brother, Jimmy Risley, and twin sisters, Brenda Risley Keener and Linda Risley Hebb. Shirley had a huge hand in raising her sisters. She was their second mom.  During Shirley's career days she worked as a LPN and was also the head cook of the United Methodist Boys Ranch.  Shirley retired to take care of her own mother until losing her in 2002. After losing her mother, she enjoyed life by taking care of her grandchildren. She attended all their sporting events and enjoyed being part of the Gore Community.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, George; her daughter, Georgia; her parents, Gene and Martha Risley; brother, Jimmy Risley; nephew, C.R. Risley; and her great-grandson, Nijah Gallo. 

She is survived by her daughters, Michelle Pruitt and partner, Michael Roybal of Albuquerque, N.M., Felicia Pruitt of Gore, OK and Tammy Pruitt and partner, Michael Hutchinson of Gore, OK; her son, Ivey Lee Pruitt and Hilary of Fort Gibson, OK; her sisters, Brenda Keener and Linda Hebb, both of Muskogee, OK; 12 grandchildren, Derek Brewer, Jessica Conway, Kaydee Gallo, Jay Travis, Hunter Williams, Cali Travis, Tommy Smith, Kyla Smith, Martha Smith, Trystan Wood, Abby Smith and Macy Bias; 17 great-grandchildren, whom she cherished and loved very much and many more family and friends.

Shirley was a huge Oklahoma Sooners Fan and Dallas Cowboys Fan. She did not miss watching a game. As a family, we are grateful to our parents for passing their love of football down to us. Shirley had a good life with a huge family that loved her very much. She will remain in our hearts forever.

Funeral Service for Shirley (Risley) Pruitt will be at 10:30 AM on Friday, November 15, 2024, at The First Baptist Church in Gore, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Gum Springs Cemetery in Gore, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc. A reception will be held at First Baptist Church after the graveside service. 

Active Pallbearers will be Lee Pruitt, Jay Travis, Derek Brewer, Hunter Williams, Tommy Smith and Leo Gallo. 

Honorary Pallbearers will be Michael Roybal, Michael Hutchinson, Michael Hebb, Gill Keener, Cody Sinclair and Mason Rider. 

Viewing will be 4 - 8 PM Wednesday and 10 AM - 8 PM Thursday at Agent Millsap Event Center in Gore, OK where the family will greet 6 - 8 PM Thursday.
