Sonya Gail (Kinsey) Calhoun

Sonya Gail Kinsey Calhoun, 60, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

A memorial service will be held in her honor on Tuesday, February 25, at 10:00 AM at Cornerstone Free Will Baptist Church in Roland, Oklahoma, officiated by William Beller.

Sonya was born on October 12, 1964, in Poteau, Oklahoma, to Abe and Billie Ladd Kinsey. She was reunited in passing with her beloved parents; her brothers, Billy Joe, James "Jimmy," and Allen Kinsey; and two cherished nieces, Amber and Stevie.

She is survived by her loving children: Chadasty Brook and Danny O'Neal of Sallisaw, Oklahoma; Susan Ashley and William Beller of Gans, Oklahoma; and Jay Warren Calhoun II of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Sonya was a loving grandmother to Gabriel Cadence and Joshua Daniel Brunk; Chase Philip, Lana Briann, and Brandon Alan O'Neal; Chase Brandon, Adysen Faith, Ella Jane, Liam Cade, and Barrett Samuel Beller.

She is also survived by her siblings: Frances Sisco of Port Richey, Florida; Carolyn and Steve Schreibvogel of Skiatook, Oklahoma; Michael Kinsey of Hominy, Oklahoma; Cynthia and Walter Waldridge of Blocker, Oklahoma; Larry Kinsey of Wynona, Oklahoma; Charles and Karen Kinsey of Pawhuska, Oklahoma; and Loyd and Kaylyn Kinsey of Wynona, Oklahoma. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews, whom she loved as her own.

Sonya had a deep passion for music and cooking, but above all, she cherished the moments spent with her family. Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love will forever be remembered by those who knew and loved her.
