Graveside Service for Ted Rogers, 93, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Upper Camp Creek Cemetery in Muldrow, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

Ted Murry Rogers, 93, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma died April 11, 2024 at the Claremore Veterans Center in Claremore, Oklahoma. 

Ted was born July 24, 1930 to James and Nettie Rogers at their home in Mineral Springs, Oklahoma.

He enlisted in the military in November 1945 at Fort Chaffee, Arkansas. Ted served in both the Army and Air Force throughout his tours. He obtained the rank of Tech Sergeant while in the Army and Airman First Class while in the Air Force. He received the Army Occupation Ribbon of Germany, Medal for Humane Action, National Defense Service Medal, Air Force GDMDL, and the Berlin Blockade Medal and was honorably discharged in December 1958.

Ted married Martha Joy Winton in 1967, who preceded him in death on January 2, 1980.

He worked for many years as a school teacher and retired from Nowata Oklahoma Public School System in 1992.

Ted enjoyed St. Louis Cardinal’s baseball, college football, gardening, and dancing at the Senior Citizens Center with his long-time friend, Peggy Crowe.

He is survived by son, John (Mary Jo) Rogers of Nowata, OK; step-daughters, Joy (Gerald) Ducote of Mountainburg, AR and Ro Mar (Roger) Brunk of Roland, OK; nine grandchildren, Amber (Colby) Burwell of Wann, OK, Tara Kaye (Chris) Renfrow of Bartlesville, OK, Lawada (John) Williamson of Fort Smith, AR, Martha (Ken) Chatman of Fort Smith, AR, Michael Mehrbakhsh of Mountainburg, AR, Hallie Ducote of Mountainburg, AR, Dale (Kim) Brunk of Roland, OK, Robert (Melanie) Brunk of Fort Smith, AR, and Dillan (Samantha) Brunk of Edmond, OK; and many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Ted was preceded in death by his wife; parents; three brothers, James, Jesse, and George; four sisters Artie, Grace, Romie, and Alta; and long-time friend, Peggy Crowe.
