Burial will be at 1:30 PM at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

Funeral Service for Thomas George Mendenhall, 86 of Sallisaw, Oklahoma will be at 11:30 AM on Monday, November 22, 2021 at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Burial will be at 1:30 PM at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

He was born on February 10, 1935 in Jonesville, North Carolina to Tula (Cockerham) Mendenhall and Dallas Dwight Mendenhall and passed away on November 16, 2021 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. He was married to Nola Fay (Briley) Mendenhall on December 2, 1955 in Stigler, Oklahoma. Mr. Mendenhall was a retired Quality Control Engineer for Amp Inc. and a combat veteran in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a volunteer at the Muskogee Veterans Administration from 1995 – 2002, a patient advocate at Sequoyah Memorial Hospital and volunteered for hospice for many years. George enjoyed golf and was a 1st place finisher in 5K races on multiple occasions. He was a loyal and loving husband to Nola for 65 years.

Survivors are:

Wife: Nola Fay Mendenhall of the home;

Daughters: Pamela Louise (Mendenhall) Sharp and Victor of Fort Gibson, OK and Paula Ann (Mendenhall) Raines and Carl Anderson of Warner, OK;

Grandchildren: Holly Faye Raines of Muskogee, OK, Jennifer (Sharp) Danielowicz and Dennis of Houston, TX, Victor Dean Sharp, JR of Fort Gibson, OK and Mary Annette Sharp of Wagoner, OK:

Great-grandchildren: Madison Paige Rorex and Daron William Danielowicz of Houston, TX, Rayden Sharp and Tatum Sharp of Fort Gibson, OK, Aiden Parker Sharp and Emma Persephone Stone of Wagoner, OK;

Sister: Louise (Mendenhall) Money and Gayle of Spartenburg, SC;

Many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

Active Pallbearers will be Victor Dean Sharp, Victor Dean Sharp, Jr., Dennis Danielowicz, Daron Danielowicz, Parker Sharp and Rayden Sharp.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Gordon McMahon, Carl Anderson and Preston Kyzer.

Viewing will be noon – 8 pm Friday, 10 am – 6 pm Saturday and 2 – 8 pm Sunday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service in Sallisaw.
