Todd Davis, 57 of Griffin, Georgia, formerly of Sallisaw, Oklahoma passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2018. Todd was born on July 28,1960 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma to James and Patsy Davis. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in education and a master’s degree in sports administration. Because of his love for sports, education, and young people, he pursued a career in college athletics. He was the Athletic Director at West Georgia Technical College in Carrolton, Georgia. With more than 25 years experience as an athletic administrator, he led Gordon State College Highlanders to their best year in school history with three sports qualifying for national championships. Under his leadership, Gordon State had 17 Academic All-Americans, five NJCAA Academic Team of the Year qualifiers, 52 All-Region selections and two NJCAA All-Americans. Previously while he was athletic director at Darton State College in Albany, Georgia, the Georgia Junior College Athletic Association named the school the top two-year athletic program in the state. Overall, Davis has seen three national championships, one NJCAA runner-up title, three national top-five finishes, six College World Series baseball appearances, seven NJCAA All-Americans and 15 region titles.

Todd’s greatest pleasure in life was his family. He married Susan Miles Davis in 1990 and they raised three beautiful children together. As a husband and a father, Todd loved his family immensely. He became a Christian at an early age and was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church in Griffin, Georgia. Throughout his life, he overcame many difficult situations, and won every battle but one in the end. Todd will be remembered for his perseverance and courage and we know now that he is finally at peace.

Todd is preceded in death by his father, James Davis; his brothers George Davis and Steve Davis. He is survived by his wife, Susie Miles Davis; sons, Andrew Miles Davis, Brooks Evan Davis; daughter, Macy Martin Davis; his mother, Patsy Davis; brother Joe Davis and wife Barbara of Oklahoma; many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church in Sallisaw, Oklahoma at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 17, 2018 under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home.
