Services for Tommy A. Mannon, 73 of Lake Tenkiller, Oklahoma will be at 1:00 pm on March 1, 2019 at First Baptist Church in Gore, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Box Cemetery in Vian, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
He was born June 18, 1945, the son of Roy Mannon and Mildred Mable (Hornback) Mannon and passed away on February 26, 2019 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. He was the loving husband of Joyce Mannon of the home after spending 38 wonderful years together. Tommy graduated from Gore High School in 1964. He retired from the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers and was a Vietnam veteran where he was awarded the Bronze Star, 3 Purple Hearts, Army Commendation, National Defense Service, Vietnam Campaign, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross and the Air Medal’s for his heroism, merit and achievements.
Tommy enjoyed many hobbies and activities, such as dancing, yard saleing , camping, traveling and taking care of his horses. He will be remembered for his fun loving personality and willingness to help anyone out that needed it, as well as spending time with his grandkids, the joys of his life.
He is survived by his wife: Joyce of the home; 3 daughters: Angela Phillips of Lake Tenkiller, OK, Tracy Moore and husband: David of Muskogee, OK and Jennifer Weese and husband: Hefton of Lake Tenkiller, OK; 6 grandchildren: Ryan Skaggs and Jennifer Buzbee of Alma, AR, Matthew Newman and Alli McClain of Tulsa, OK, Patrick Harris of Marble City, OK, Kayla Mannon of Wilberton, OK, Gracey Hensley of Lake Tenkiller, OK, Chloe Moore of Muskogee, OK and Mannon Moore of Muskogee, OK; 1 brother: Jimmy Art Mannon and wife Ruby Mannon of Vian, OK; 1 sister: Judy Keathley and husband: Mike of Gore, OK; 1 sister-in-law: Janie Mannon and several other nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and 1 brother: Harlon Mannon.
Active pallbearers will be Patrick Harris, Ryan Skaggs, Matthew Newman, Chris Keathley, Lester Keathley, Mannon Moore.
Honorary pallbearers will be Emmitt Sexton, Steve Radford, Shane Buttrey, Bill T. Davis, Mack White, Billy Mack White and Buddy Hodges .
Viewing will be 1 – 8 pm Thursday at Agent Millsap Event Center in Gore, OK.
