Tommy Lynn Bruner, 69, of Vian,OK passed away in his home surrounded by his loved ones on Aug 2, 2018.
Born on January 19, 1949 in Santa Rosa, NM to Elmer and Mamie (Passmore) Bruner.
His family relocated, settling in Broken Bow, OK. Tommy was a proud Veteran of the US Navy, achieving the status of a Master Welder, and served on the front lines during the Vietnam War.
Tommy married Neva (Buchanan) Bruner, while in service, and upon discharge from the Navy in 1972, moved to Jupiter, FL where he worked his way up through his trade to become a Master Carpenter. Tommy retired as a Construction Manager from Kenco Communities, Inc. in 2008. After retiring, they relocated to Vian, OK in 2010 to pursue his much loved hobbies of duck hunting, boating and fishing, and the peaceful outdoor life.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Neva Bruner of Vian; Daughters, Tami (Bruner) Gonzalez of Baytown, TX and Jesika Bruner of Vian; Brother, Harold (Butch) Bruner of Vian; Sisters, Suda Brittain of Jupiter, FL and Betty Hendricks of Tecumseh, OK; Grandsons, Saxton Green of Vian, Rowan Lukey of Port St. Lucie, FL and Tommy and Luis Gonzalez of Baytown, TX; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Helen Bruner, Leonard Bruner, Feldon Bruner, Dale Bruner; and Granddaughter: Evelyn Sue Gonzalez.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on Saturday August 25, 2018 from 1pm – 4pm at Tenkiller State Park Community Building, and will be open to all of his local family, neighbors, and friends. A final Celebration of Life gathering will be held in Jupiter, FL, at a future date, after which his ashes shall be interred at sea as his final resting place. Semper Fortis…
