Funeral service for Vernon Harold Matlock, 90 of Muldrow, Oklahoma will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, April 19, 2021 at First Assembly of God Church in Muldrow, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Blackjack Cemetery in Muldrow, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

He was born on October 18, 1930 in Bristow, Oklahoma to Eva (Vaughan) Matlock and Elmer Phillip Matlock and passed away on April 15, 2021 in Muldrow, Oklahoma. He was married to Mary Helen (Fisher) Matlock on August 6, 1948 in Van Buren, Arkansas. She preceded him in death on January 15, 2013. Mr. Matlock was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War and a retired machinist from Dixie Cup. Family was the center of Vernon’s world and sharing his love of horse racing was his favorite past-time. Vernon lived a full life of adventure with his sweetheart Helen and heaven is rejoicing as he reunites with his bride.
Survivors are:
2 daughters: Becky Tabor and Richard of Muldrow, OK and Melissa Anthony of Little Rock, AR;
3 sons: Mike Matlock and Sherri of Muldrow, OK, Mark “Pepper” Matlock of Muldrow, OK and Todd Matlock and Lorri of Muldrow, OK;
14 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren;
several other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Rev. E.P. and Eva Matlock, wife: Mary Helen Fisher Matlock, 1 son in law: Robert Anthony, 1 sister: Floy Harp, 2 brothers: Leo and J.C. Matlock and 1 grandchild: Hollie Tabor-Brown.
Active Pallbearers will be Grandsons and Grandsons-in-law.
Viewing will be 2 – 8 pm Sunday at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel – Muldrow, OK where the family will greet 3 – 5 pm.
