Vic L. Harris

Funeral service for Vic L. Harris, 69 of Vian, Oklahoma will be at 1:00 PM on Monday, August 23, 2021 at Vian High School Gymnasium in Vian, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Rocky Point Cemetery in Sallisaw, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

He was born on November 10, 1951 in Poteau, Oklahoma to Mary Fern (McLaughlin) Harris and Evert Aaron Harris and passed away on August 16, 2021 in Brighton, Colorado. He was married to Ruth Ann (Davis) Harris on March 1, 1980 in Monroe, Oklahoma. Mr. Harris was a former teacher, baseball coach, softball coach and bus driver at Vian High School, retiring around 2013. He had served on the Vian City Council as well as serving as police commissioner and reserve officer. He loved to fish, hunt, watch the OSU Cowboys and loved his family. Go Pokes!

Survivors are:

Wife: Ruth Ann of the home;

Two sons: Chad Harris and LuWella of Sallisaw, OK and Thad Harris and Heather of Sallisaw, OK;

Eight grandchildren: Tristan Harris, Kaleb Harris, Adriauna Harris, Olivia Harris, Chloe Harris, Riley Cheek, Haley Cheek and Nick Hawkins;

Six great-grandchildren;

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Active Pallbearers will be Jason Brooks, Nathan Brooks, Joe Brooks, Mathew Davis, Jeremy Davis and Chris Prock.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Gary Seay, Bill Reynolds, Mack White, Larry King, Albis Ramos and Howard Simms.

Viewing will be 10 am – 8 pm Saturday and 2 – 8 pm Sunday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw where the family will greet 6 – 8 pm Sunday.
