Services for Wanda Sue Waters Sutterfield, 77, of Muldrow, Oklahoma will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 15, 2019 at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Muldrow, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Gans Cemetery in Gans, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

Wanda Sue Sutterfield, 77, of Muldrow, went Home to meet our Lord and Savior in the early morning hours of August 10, 2019 with loved ones at her side in her home.

Wanda was born to Leonard and Katie Cowan in Gans, OK on June 12, 1942. She was raised in the Pentecostal faith. Wanda worked as a CNA in local nursing homes before retiring several years ago.

Wanda was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was the epitome of Proverbs 31:28, “Her children will rise up and call her blessed.” Her heart was selfless, generous and rich in love. She enjoyed reading, singing and good conversation with loved ones. She was also a huge Elvis fan.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Katie Cowan, brothers Bobby, Benjamin and Kenneth, sister Sharon “Kokie” Teague, as well as her son Lonnie Waters and daughter Rhonda Cannon, her granddaughter Angel Cannon and great-grandson Colton Waters.

She is survived by her daughter Christine and husband Monte Brunk of Muldrow, OK and daughter Toni and husband Johnny Burcham of Uniontown, AR, sister Peggy Barnum of Bakersfield, CA and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be missed immensely.

A faithful servant of the Lord, Wanda lived the verse of 1 Thessalonians 5:16, “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” Her favorite Bible chapter was Psalms 23 which ends with “I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever” and she has made it home.

Active Pallbearers will be Michael McCollum, Johnny (Butter) Burcham, Jr., Jamie Waters, Jordan Brunk, Jay Tuck and Shane Cureton.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Johnny Burcham, Sr., Tyrone Taylor, Avis Viravongsa, James Michael (Brother) Brunk and Monte Brunk.

Viewing will be 10 AM – 8 PM Wednesday at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Muldrow, Oklahoma where the family will greet 5 -7 PM.
