Funeral Service for Wayne Gavit, 69, of Muldrow, Oklahoma will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at Trinity Holiness Church in Akins community, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Akins Cemetery in Akins community, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

He was born on April 4, 1952 in Sweetwater, Texas to Wilda Fern (Peeples) Gavit and Vernon Floyd Gavit and passed away on January 20, 2022 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was married to Lynda (Shute) Gavit on August 11, 1972. Mr. Gavit was a retired building maintenance man and faithful member of Trinity Holiness Church in Akins where he was Deacon, bass player and song leader.

Survivors are:

wife: Lynda Gavit of the home;

daughter: Teresa Gavit of the home;

3 sons: Tim Gavit and Laree of Fayetteville, AR, Sam Gavit of Gans, OK and John Gavit and Katie of Farmersville, TX;

1 granddaughter and 6 grandsons;

1 sister; Debbie Smith of Decatur, TX

2 brothers; Roger Gavit and Wendy of Jay, OK, and Howard Gavit and Kim of Chelsea, TX.

other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother: Wilda, father: Vernon and brother: Greg.

Viewing will be 10 AM – 8 PM Wednesday at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Muldrow where the family will greet 6 – 8 PM.
