Graveside Service for Wayne Whitaker, 72, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 19, 2021 at Akins Cemetery in Sallisaw, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

He was born on January 18, 1949 in Wichita, Kansas to Viola Verona (Reed) McCleary and Charles Ray Whitaker and passed away on March 17, 2021 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was married to Carma Sue (Allen) Whitaker on August 1, 1969 in Ventura, California. He was an auto parts salesman, a Veteran of the United States Navy and of the Christian faith.

Survivors are:

wife: Carma of the home;

4 children: Kenneth Whitaker of Saint Joseph, MO, Crystal Niewald of Clarksville, AR, Amy Harrison of Sallisaw, OK and Raphaela Carter of Saint Joseph, MO;

11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren;

2 sisters: Paula Marie and Kay Lynn;

1 brother: Robert McCleary;

numerous other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father; stepfather, Arthur McCleary; and his brother, William “Willie” McCleary;

Visitation will be 10 AM – 8 PM Thursday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw, OK.
