Funeral Service for Wesley Curtis Emerson, 54, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, August 28, 2020 at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Akins Cemetery in Sallisaw, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

He was born on August 1, 1966 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to “Susie” Maudie Mae (Thomason) Emerson and Kenneth Emerson, Sr. and passed away on August 23, 2020 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was the Road Manager for Tracy Lawrence, Glen Campbell, Doug Stone, Pearl River, Wade Hayes and numerous others. Wesley was awarded Road Manager of the Year by the Country Music Association. He was a member of Agnew Avenue Baptist Church. Wesley got his start at Doc Seversons Club in Oklahoma City. After hearing of his talents, Glen Campbell gave him his big break. His last music venture was as General Manager for Whiskey River Bar and Saloon in Grand Junction, Colorado and was then employed with Piper Oil Company. He was the family crew chief for he and his brothers stock car racing team, Emerson Brothers Racing, and was an avid poker player.

Survivors are:

son: Tyler Don Mitchell;

mother: Susie Emerson of the home;

3 brothers: Kenneth Emerson, Jr. and Vicki of Tuttle, OK, Mark Emerson and Sheila of Oklahoma City, OK and Rodney Emerson and Tammy of Oklahoma City, OK;

several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father and his sister, Beverly Emerson.

Viewing will be Noon – 8 PM Wednesday and 10 AM – 8 PM Thursday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw, OK.
