William "Bill" G Burgess Jr

William Glen “Bill” Burgess, Jr., 83 of Sallisaw, Oklahoma went to be with the Lord July 13, 2017 in Sallisaw. He was born July 26, 1933 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the son of Pearl Estes Burgess and William Glenn Burgess, Sr. He was married to Kishiko Nobe on October 10, 1957 in Tokyo, Japan. Mr. Burgess was President of 4H and a Track Star in High School at Will Rogers in Tulsa and in College at NEO and OSU. He was drafted into the Army then was in Army and Air Force Reserve and was also an active member of the American Legion Carnie Welch Post 27 and lifetime member of the NRA and Hereford Cattlemans Association. He owned and operated WG Burgess Construction Company. He was Chairman of Sequoyah County Excise Board, B and B Homebuilders, and Chairman of the Board of First National Bank of Sallisaw. He developed Leisure Hills, Country Club Estates, Country Club North. He built a portion of Will Rogers Turnpike and HWY 33 thru Tulsa, 68 Flood Control Dams in Oklahoma and also built the taxiways and runways for Amarillo Airforce Base and helped on part of the Keystone Damn. He was a member of Eastide Baptist Church in Sallisaw, OK.

1 grandson: John Thomas and wife: Sarah Williams III of Van Buren, AR

2 granddaughters: Ashley Kelly Roberts of Ft. Smith, AR

Kendra Roberts of Oklahoma City, OK

4 great grandchildren: Scarlett Kelly, Jordan Kaufman, Aubrey Williams and Austin Williams

several other relatives and friends

He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 daughter: Judy Williams and 1 sister: Margie Lott.
