He was born on November 13, 1946 in Dayton, Tennessee to Lillian Kate (McClure) Carney and William Bryan Carney and passed away on October 23, 2021 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was married to Christine (Haley) Carney on April 23, 1983 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. Mr. Carney worked in IT Fiber Optics for AT&T. He was a Dispatcher for the Sallisaw Police Department, a U.S. Navy Veteran and of the Protestant faith.
Survivors are:
Wife: Christine Carney of the home;
3 step-sons: Joseph Stephenson, Jonathan Stephenson and Jeremi Stephenson, all of Gore, OK;
numerous grandchildren;
2 sisters: Sharon Gleason of Washington and Charlotte Brace of Michigan;
other relatives and friends.
He was preceded by his parents; and his brother, Gary Carney.
