Willie Mae (Slaughter) Shade

November 29, 1938 — March 5, 2021

On March 5, 2021, Willie Mae Shade passed from this life to life eternal to live with Jesus Christ. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She was born November 29,1938 to Clinton Slaughter and Eldora Murray Slaughter in Buena Vista, Ga. She met and married Joe L. Shade on Oct 10, 1958 in Arlington, Virginia.  Mrs. Shade was a mill press operator at Baldor and refinisher at Riverside Furniture and a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters, Jessie Mae Brown, Flossie Mae Shade and Georgiana Lowe, 2 brothers, James Slaughter and Willie Wright, one sister-in-law Dorothy Slaughter, 2 brother- in -law Eddie Brown, and William Shade.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Joe Shade Sr. of the home; 1 daughter, Debra Gaines; 6 sons, Kenneth Shade of Muldrow, Ok, Joe Shade Jr. and Debra of Fort Smith, AR, Kevin Shade of Fort Smith, AR, Marvin Shade and Clara of Glenpool, Ok, David Shade of Muldrow, Ok, and Bruce Shade and Tina of Perham Minnesota; 2 brothers, Robert slaughter of Hartford, Ct., and Richard Slaughter of Buena Vista, Ga; one sister-in-law- Maude Slaughter of Columbus, Ohio; one brother-in-law Theodore Shade of Kansas City, Mo; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Muldrow, Oklahoma. Burial will be at U.S. National Cemetery under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Muldrow.

Active Pallbearers will be Jojuan Shade, Jon Castleberry, Terrell Gaines, Demiko Shade, Shawn Shade and Stanley West.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Kenneth Shade, Joe L. Shade Jr., Kevin Shade, Marvin Shade, David Shade, and Bruce Shade.

Viewing will be 11 am – 8 pm Friday at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Muldrow, OK.
