Winnie Lee (Young) Stovall

Funeral Service for Winnie Lee Stovall, 94, of Vian, Oklahoma will be at 1:00 PM on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Vian, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

She was born on February 9, 1927 in Vian, Oklahoma to Helen Louise (Moss) Young and Austin Zachariah Young, Sr. and passed away on November 28, 2021 in Vian, Oklahoma. She was married to Wade Stovall on December 1, 1943. He preceded her in death on August 5, 1996. She was a retired Educator with Vian, Roland and Braggs Public Schools and was a member of Vian Baptist Church. Winnie was well known for her writings and her poems.

Survivors are:

Son, Jack Stovall of Vian, OK;

2 Grandchildren, Angela Collins and Eric of Vian, OK and Delaina Risley and Gill of Vian, OK;

6 Great-Grandchildren, Matt Collins and wife, AprilDawn, of Henryetta, OK, Danielle Collins of Vian, OK, Gabrielle Collins of Vian, OK, Emilee Edwards of Vian, OK, Gracie Risley of Vian, OK and Cooper Risley of Vian, OK;

Sister, Sharlie Ferguson of Elk Grove, CA;

Sister-in-Law, Peggy Young of Vian, OK;

And numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Theresa Stovall; husband, Wade Stovall; parents; two sisters, Helen A. Young and Helen Henning; and four brothers, Robert, Harry, Bill Tom and Austin Young, Jr.

Active Pallbearers will be Eric Collins, Gill Risley, Matt Collins, Cooper Risley, Jason Young and Cody Turley.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Winnie Lee’s nieces, nephews and former students.

Visitation will be 10 AM – 8 PM Wednesday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw, OK.
